A Van Gogh Painting Reimagined in a Field Using Plants, Stone, and Earth

One crop artist and painter completed a 1.2-acre rendition of Vincent van Gogh’s "Olive Trees" (1889)
His creation is located in a field on the Eagan, Minnesota, campus of the mass media firm Thomson Reuters, and was commissioned as part of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts centennial celebration.The actual painting, which was completed in November 1889, less than a year before the artist’s death, measures 29" x 36" and hangs at the nearby Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
